Growatt ARK 5.1XH-A1 (two ARK 2.5H-A1 modules plus BDC 95045-A1)
This guide uses the smallest ARK XH-A1 system in the cited manual: two ARK 2.5H-A1 battery modules and one BDC 95045-A1 controller. ARK, APX and different XH generations should not be treated as the same product.
Research from manufacturer documents, not a hands-on test. Values and missing details are kept separate below.
- 2 × ARK modules + BDC
- Matched hybrid inverter
- Household AC
What matters on your quote
The manual gives nominal energy and maximum/short-duration battery-system output. Its usable-energy figure elsewhere is per module; we do not relabel that as a quoted usable-system figure. The hybrid inverter adds a separate AC constraint.
- A single ARK module is not the minimum complete XH-A1 system shown here. Check the module count and BDC controller on your quote.
- The cited manual is from 2022. Confirm current UK availability, inverter compatibility and the full warranty for the exact supplied generation.
- The manual’s ten-year warranty line does not establish current UK throughput, end-of-life capacity or labour coverage. Ask for those conditions before comparing warranties.
At a glance
| Nominal / stated energy (not usable capacity) | 5.12 kWh nominal for the two-module system; not a quoted usable-system figure |
|---|---|
| Battery-side maximum power (not household AC output) | 2.5 kW maximum battery-system output; not a continuous AC inverter rating |
| Peak power | 5 kW for 10 seconds, battery system |
| Warranty (years) | 10 years — manual specification claim; UK warranty conditions unconfirmed |
Not in the documents we checked so far: usable capacity, continuous / rated power (original units and basis), round-trip efficiency, warranty throughput / cycles, capacity at end of warranty, coupling, expandable to, backup power, UK list price.
Ask the installer before you sign
- Is the usable capacity on the quote the figure above, or a nominal one?
- Can it charge fast enough to fill in your cheap window? Charging power × hours of the window is the most it can take in.
- Is any equipment needed for backup in a power cut included in the price?
- Does it work alongside your current solar inverter, or replace it?
- Which warranty conditions apply in the UK, and what do you have to do to keep them?
Will it pay back for you?
Usable system capacity is not established here, so the calculator opens without a battery-capacity preset. Enter the usable capacity from your installer’s quote. Add your own installed price and tariff. If the datasheet does not state a round-trip efficiency, use your installer’s figure.
