Sunsynk SUN-BATT-5.32 (wall-mounted REPT model, v2 document)
Sunsynk uses several similar battery names. This page is specifically about the wall-mounted SUN-BATT-5.32 REPT model, not the newer L5.3, G5.3 or W5.3 batteries.
Research from manufacturer documents, not a hands-on test. Values and missing details are kept separate below.
- SUN-BATT-5.32 (DC)
- Compatible inverter
- Household AC
What matters on your quote
The original Sunsynk sheet below is a scanned manufacturer document hosted by UK distributor CEF. Its nominal battery power and maximum battery power are different figures; neither is a guaranteed continuous AC output for an unspecified inverter. The sheet does not give a separately labelled usable capacity or complete UK warranty.
- The support compatibility matrix groups SUN-BATT models separately from the L/G/W family. Similar energy figures do not make them interchangeable.
- Do not treat a cycle-life test claim as a guaranteed number of cycles or copy a South African warranty onto a UK installation.
- Before a deposit, ask for the exact model, usable energy, matching inverter, UK battery warranty and any registration deadline.
At a glance
| Nominal / stated energy (not usable capacity) | 5320 Wh battery energy as stated; a separately labelled usable figure is not given |
|---|---|
| Battery-side nominal charging / discharging power | 2500 W nominal battery charging/discharging; not the inverter AC rating |
| Battery-side maximum power (not household AC output) | 5000 W maximum battery charging/discharging, subject to operating conditions |
Not in the documents we checked so far: usable capacity, continuous / rated power (original units and basis), peak power, round-trip efficiency, warranty (years), warranty throughput / cycles, capacity at end of warranty, coupling, expandable to, backup power, UK list price.
Ask the installer before you sign
- Is the usable capacity on the quote the figure above, or a nominal one?
- Can it charge fast enough to fill in your cheap window? Charging power × hours of the window is the most it can take in.
- Is any equipment needed for backup in a power cut included in the price?
- Does it work alongside your current solar inverter, or replace it?
- Which warranty conditions apply in the UK, and what do you have to do to keep them?
Will it pay back for you?
Usable system capacity is not established here, so the calculator opens without a battery-capacity preset. Enter the usable capacity from your installer’s quote. Add your own installed price and tariff. If the datasheet does not state a round-trip efficiency, use your installer’s figure.
